Planning
Here is a screenshot of the front page of my chosen website, the British Journal of Photography.
Simple Photography Practice
Mould
The focus in this picture is the mould growing on the side of the wall. This is quite a shallow depth of field and, as a result, your eyes are brought to the growths and the water dripping down on to grow it. The rule of thirds is in play here as the subject of the photo is front and centre for you to see.
Dirt
This photo is focused on the dirty underside of an outside light on the wall. There is a slightly deeper depth of field here and the eyes can be brought to the righter third gradually opposed to staying centre.
Slurs
This photo has an even shallower depth of field than all my previous photos. The points of interest are clearly the word 'retard' and 'dick' to a lesser extent. The rule of thirds comes into play again as the primary subject is in the centre third while the secondary subjects fade away towards the right side. These insults were tucked away under an unused set of stairs.
Webs
The focus of this photo is on a bit of fluff caught in cobwebs right in the centre of the photo, as the rule of thirds comes into play again. The detail of these cobwebs does distract you from the centre but manages to stay secondary. The brightness of the sunlight to the left third contrasts heavily to the right third which contains the shaded wall.
The Wall
This photo has a broader subject area as the photo shows the colour of the bricks changing on a wall. There's a fairly deep depth of field when comparing it to the other photos here.
Footprint
Teabag
The teabag in this photo attracts attention immediately as the majority of the roof of it is brighter and contrasting to the orange, grey, and black stones that surround it. The light exposure helps the teabag stand out too with the rule of thirds showing off the teabag.
The Roof
The exposure in this photo is fairly medium as the photo's sunlight is separated through the photo partially. The foreground isn't focused on much as the photo has a slightly deep depth of field.
Directions
There is quite a shallow depth of field in this photo as the two symbols of humans are in focus. The photo is also fairly saturated, helped by the contrast of white and dark blue.
Cables
There's a fairly dark exposure here as the focus is on another dark object but the green wire contrasts this slightly by bringing in some light too. The cable is in the centre third yet again and shows off the rule of thirds well, though to the right there's lots of detail in the bricks to show how the rule breaks sometimes.

Production Schedule
As a contingency plan, I planned on taking the photos only on sunny & clear days, I made sure I had lots of time for extra days of photography incase it rained or was cloudy. The deadline was a few weeks after my intended day of the photoshoot. I was lucky that the weather was good so I managed to take my photos on the day I wanted to. Should it have rained, I was ready to push the photoshoot back several days. If I ran out of time I would just have to put on a raincoat and take the photos anyway with my camera's settings adjusted accordingly.
